In celebration of his 800th birthday, the mosque built by al-Zaher Baybars in Cairo has been open to the public after the completion of its restoration work. The mosque dates to the Mamluk Period and is of great historic, religious, and touristic importance. The mosque is the 3rd largest mosque in Egypt, and was built between 1266-1268 AD.

The Egyptian-American archaeological mission working at South Abydos has completed the restoration of Queen Tetisheri’s pyramid. The restoration work, which included conserving, consolidating, and documenting the pyramid started in 2018. The mudbrick pyramid was the last ever pyramid built for a queen from ancient Egypt, after which the royal families chose to be buried in tombs cut from the mountain bedrock.

The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has announced the completion of development work on the Open Museum at Karnak Temple Complex. This comprehensive project included various improvements, such as paving the floors with sandstone blocks, installing wooden benches, adding new informational signs, and creating dedicated pathways for visitors. With these essential upgrades now finished, tourists can fully enjoy the area and experience an enhanced visit.
